Youth

Since its founding, the American Moslem Society (AMS) has been serving youth and catering to their social, personal, and spiritual needs because the youth are its future. They are our hope that will pave the path for upcoming generations. The main focus of the youth programs at the AMS is to maintain and strengthen their Muslim American identity —especially during the challenges they constantly face – and to keep the youth well aware of their past, present, and future. This is sought through the various activities at the AMS such as its
Quranic and Islamic study circles, monthly lectures, seminars, workshops, Quranic contests, and its monthly youth nights. The AMS also organizes fun recreational camping trips for the youth, locally and nationally, to allow them to engage in team building exercises and bond with fellow friends in nature. Overall, through all its work the AMS’s goal is to keep the youth cognizant of their Muslim identity and through that encourage them to excel personally, socially, academically, and spiritually while contributing to society at large.
