The mosque of the American Moslem Society was established in 1938. It is the oldest mosque in the State of Michigan, and also considered one of the oldest mosques in North America.

Worship

As a Muslim community center, we offer daily prayers, Friday Jumu’ah and Ramadan Taraweeh.

Marriage Service

The American Moslem Society provides Islamic marriage contracts. There are legal documents needed.

Consultation

Islamic Marriage Contract, Islamic Divorce, Family consultation, Birth Certificate, and IDs.

Education

Alfurqan: Weekend school

One of the vehicles used by AMS to fulfill this divine injunction was the creation of the Al-Furqan School in 1982. The Al-Furqan school currently serves about 700 students and operates on the weekend inside AMS.

Ibn Abbas: Quran School

Abdallah Ibn Abbas school was established late 2003. Started by a group of volunteers and a class of 25 students, Abdallah Ibn Abbas School was able to successfully expand and grow and now provides educational services to 470 students.
