The Imam of the American Moslem Society offers Islamic marriage contracts, confidential family consultation, and Islamic divorce, all by appointment. Each service is handled with care, privacy, and respect for Islamic principles.
The Imam performs the Islamic marriage contract (nikah) in accordance with Islamic law. Both parties must be present, along with a wali (guardian) and witnesses.
A Wayne County marriage license is required before the nikah.
This license is issued by Wayne County, not by AMS. You must obtain it from the Wayne County Clerk’s office before your appointment with the Imam.
