The AMS is here to support your family through one of life’s most difficult moments. We provide janazah prayers, coordination with funeral homes, and burial arrangements, all according to Islamic tradition.
Islamic funeral rites are time-sensitive, and the AMS is available to help families navigate each step with care and dignity. Our services include:
Janazah Prayer
The congregational funeral prayer performed at the masjid.
Ghusl & Kafan
Ritual washing and shrouding of the deceased, coordinated through an approved funeral home.
Burial Lot
Purchase of the grave from the AMS office.
Burial Arrangements
Coordination with Woodmere Cemetery for the interment.
Three steps, in order. Start with the masjid, and we’ll guide you through the rest.
Call the American Moslem Society main office as soon as possible after a death occurs. The office will walk you through the next steps, help you purchase the burial lot (grave) from the AMS, and ensure all necessary documents are completed and signed.
The office can also provide you with information on approved funeral homes and burial procedures.
